Ministry Staff

Marcus Partridge, Associate Pastor and Facilities Director
Pastor Marcus has been on staff here at Liberty Towers since August 2007. He has been married to Darlene for 10 years and has two young boys, Geoffrey age 6 and Daniel age 4. Graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1997 with a B.A. in Religion and Christian Ministries , Marcus has spent the last 10 years in full-time ministry in the areas of associate and youth ministry. He was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2004. Born and raised in Southern California , Marcus loves bicycling, drinking Starbuck's coffee, road trips, lighthouses, history, and building friendships with those around him.


Merlin Hunter, Associate Pastor, Sr. Adults
Pastor Merlin has been a part of the Liberty Towers since its early days. He graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1952. He was ordained in 1959, received his Divinity degree in 1955, and completed his Master’s in Divinity and Religious education in 1971 – all the while serving God in churches around the world.

He has been married to Alice since 1950. They married in Nampa , Idaho . They have 4 children and 19 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He loves to garden, cook, do puzzles, and travel. In fact, he has taken nine different groups to Israel . His favorite Bible stories are: Joseph, Ruth, and David.

Pastor Merlin and Alice spent eighteen years as missionaries in Trinidad , Tabago, West Indies , and Israel . The rest of their service in the USA being at Grass Valley , Lodi , Roseville , Sacramento Cordova, and here. He also has been on work and Witness trips to Argentina , Jordan , and Guatemala .

He has a passion for senior adults. He loves them and lifts them up in prayer because he truly cares! He has served at Liberty Towers several times over his career: as Senior Pastor from 1959 – 1964, as Associate Pastor 1975 – 1976 with Marshall Pryor, & 1997 – 1999 with Tom Floyd, and currently, in his present duties, since 2001 with Michael Page.


Matthew Garner, Youth Pastor
Pastor Matt came on the ministry staff in August 2007 as the youth pastor for junior high to college ages.  He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in May of 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Bible and Christian Ministries.  In the last 10 years, Matt has served in numerous ways in the youth ministry and music ministry setting.  Most recently he served as a youth pastor to an awesome group of students in San Jose, California.  Matt has a heart for students and because of the love the Lord has shown him, he wants to see them encounter a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Matt comes to Liberty Towers with his fiancée Jessica.  They were engaged January 2007.  She has a heart of compassion, love for the Lord and students, and is an amazing support to the youth ministry.  They both were born and raised in the growing foothills town of Jackson, California.  Matt has one brother and two awesome supportive parents.  He enjoys hiking, skiing, golf, guitar, and green tea.


Toni James, Children's Ministry Pastor
Toni is a PK, Pastor’s Kid. She’s a EK, Evangelist’s Kid. And she loves kids. She joined Liberty Towers in July 2006. She graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1999. She received her district license in 2006 and is actively working towards her ordination.

Her parents, Dr. Randall and Mary Jane James, have served in the pastorate and as evangelists of the Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee , Indiana , Kentucky , and Florida . They are currently preparing for a new missionary assignment to Africa Nazarene University . She has a brother, Rick, who is a Youth and Music Minister at Springfield 1 st in Ohio .

She loves to “hang out” with her friends, play games, and loves movie trivia.

Her spiritual gift is teaching and she loves to reach kids for Christ and show them how to live for Him. Her favorite book in the Bible is Philippians.


Elaine Carter, Pastoral Counselor
Rev. Elaine has been part of the Liberty Towers family for 10 years and has just recently joined the staff as a pastoral counselor.  She obtained her M.A. in Psychology with a clinical emphasis from CSU Sacramento in 2005.  She received her district minister's license in 2006 and is currently pursuing the requirements for ordination.  She has been counseling professionally for over 5 years through Capital Christian Center.  Her call includes aiding in the spiritual needs of the local body as well as evangelism with an emphasis in revivalism.

She was born and raised in the Sacramento area.  She has recently taken on fly fishing as a hobby and enjoys gardening as well.  She lives in Citrus Heights with her two youngest children, Elizabeth and Christopher.  Elaine also has two older children, one in college, Joshua, and one just graduated from college, Jessica. Her verse to live by, John 8:32 "you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free"


Brian S. McGee, Lay Pastor and Volunteer Cheerleader
Brian joined the Staff at Liberty Towers as a volunteer in 2005 and assumed a full time position in January 2006. He has been a Lay Pastor in several Nazarene Churches since 1972.

He has been married to Kathy since 1978 and they have three grown children: Kimberly, Timothy, and Stephen. They live in Arbuckle , CA , on a 10 acre ranch with horses, lambs, goats, dogs, cats, and mice.

Brian’s passion is discipleship. He loves to teach and preach about the LIFE changing power of Jesus Christ and how we can apply Scripture to our everyday lives, and experience fulfillment and joy daily.


David Perdomo, Associate Pastor, Spanish Center
David was born in El Salvador. He comes from a pastoral family in which he is the eldest of two children. He is married to Carolina who is also studying to be a pastor. They have one son, David Jr.

David’s career in the church began at an early age. He directed the Church Music Worship at 6 years of age, played the piano, directed the Children’s Sunday school at age 8, and was president of the teen group at age 18. At the age of 21 he felt the call to become a Pastor. Having graduated from the National Institute of Santa Ana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Physics he went on to graduate from the Nazarene of the Americas Seminary in Costa Rica.

Pastor David came to Sacramento in April of 2006 where he is now the Pastor of Liberty Towers Spanish Speaking Church. His passion is to faithfully teach and preach the Word of God to avail the winning of souls for God.


Administrative Staff

Dena Alejandro, Business Office Assistant
Dena joined Liberty Towers in October 2004 as bookkeeper doing accounts payable, accounts receivable, information and record-keeping, and as assistant to the business manager.

Dena has been married to Antonio since 2004. They have three children: Devin, Lynnee, and Breanna. They are involved in ministry, leadership, and worship.

She loves golf, music, and to travel. Her favorite book in the bible is Hebrews. Her passion is worship. She manifests that gift in the Worship Team on Sunday mornings.


Becky Daniel, Church Secretary
Becky and her family started attending Liberty Towers Church in August 1995. She started working in the school office in June 2006, and became the Church Secretary in June 2007.

She was born and raised in Sacramento, and has been married to Jeff since 1993. They have two children: Sarah and Matthew.

She enjoys cycling, golf, hiking and camping.


Robin Ballard, Tech. and Prod. Coorid.
I was raised in Washington , D.C. and Alamogordo , NM , where I graduated from high school. I am a 1983 graduate of McMurry University in Abilene , TX . I have been married to Darrell for 22 years and we have two children, Ian and Eryn. We have been at LT since 1994 and I have been on staff since February of 1999. I also teach music at Liberty Towers Christian School . I love music, reading, sewing, and traveling. But most of all, I love being with my family.


Scott Garske, Sport’s Ministry Director
Scott has been a part of Liberty Towers Church since 1984. He has been married to his wife Wendy since 1985, and they have two daughters: Sydney and Natalie.  His primary passion is for people and Sports Ministries.  Growing up in the Midwest, his family attended a Lutheran Church.  In 1980, Scott joined the Air Force that brought him to California. 

In 1982, he received Christ as his personal Savior in a small Baptist church.  Scott has worked for a variety of manufacturing companies and volunteered as a coach/referee for many Parks and Recreation Districts.  He has served on the Liberty Towers church board for 7 years and headed various church committees from Buildings and Grounds to Outreach ministries.  Currently, Scott is the Sports Ministries Director and leads a small Life Group called “Life with Children”. 

One of the best sports ministry accomplishments implemented at Liberty Towers is the Upward Basketball/Cheerleading program.  It started in 2002 with 99 kids and has now grown to over to 300 participating kids.  This whole ministry focus is to give God the Glory.


School Staff

Mary Mast, Principal, LT Christian School
A classroom teacher for 18 years, Mary is in her second year as principal. Previously, she taught at a school for dyslexic students. Her varied educational experience includes stints as a trainer for Macy’s (East Coast), and textbook sales representative in California and Nevada .

Mary graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Education, credentialed for grades K-8. In 1981, she was the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Teacher of the Year, and in 1985, she received a teaching award from Phi Delta Kappan.

Mary and her husband, Greg, have been married for 23 years and have a son, Drew, who is in college studying mechanical engineering. She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and collecting antiques.


Dawn Tracy, LTCS Vice Principal
Dawn Tracy came to Liberty Towers Christian School in 1999 as a teacher, and is now our Vice Principal (2006) while continuing to teach, as well.

She graduated from California State University , Sacramento , in 1991 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Education along with receiving her teaching credentials. She has been listed in the Who’s Who of America ’s Teachers (2005/06) and was nominated for a Disney Teaching Award.

She has been married to Andrew since 1994 and they have two children: Kimmy and Jared. She loves to read, do crafts, spend time with her family, and play the flute. She is a part of the Worship TEAM. Her favorite Bible Story is Jacob and Rachel.


Tracy Young, Pre-School Director
Tracy came to Liberty Towers Preschool in 2003 and now serves as its Director. She works long days in this position and spends her days caring and nurturing those in her care, all under the age of four.

She is the daughter of Jim and Doris LeQuieu, long time members of Liberty Towers . Her mother was a significant influence in Tracy ’s life. Doris has since gone on to Heaven.

She loves to read and go sightseeing. Her favorite book in the Bible is I Corinthians and her favorite Bible story is Esther.
