Celebrate Recovery®

Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step program based on the Beatitudes found in Matthew chapter 5. The program was founded by pastor John Baker 10 years ago, and was initially sponsored by Saddleback Church . Celebrate Recovery is designed to help us overcome our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.

Celebrate Recovery encourages fellowship and celebrates God's healing power in our lives as we work our way along the road to recovery. We are changed as we share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. We become willing to accept God's grace and forgiveness in solving our life's problems.

By working through the eight principles and 12-Step study, we grow spiritually, and are freed from our hurts, habits and hang-ups. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with others and our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

Eight Recovery Principles

Realize that I’m not God; I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong things and that my life is unmanageable.

Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor

Earnestly believe God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover.

Happy are those who mourn for they shall be comforted

Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and Control.

Happy are the meek

Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself, and to someone I trust.

Happy are the pure in heart

Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.

Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires

Evaluate all my relationships; offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others except when to do so would harm them or others.

Happy are the merciful; Happy are the peacemakers

Reserve Daily time for self examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and gain the power to do His will.

Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others both by my example and by my words.

Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires

Through Celebrate Recovery, we have seen God do amazing things in people’s lives. As Celebrate Recovery grows at Liberty Towers , we will be needing additional small-group leaders. If you are interested in being a Celebrate Recovery leader, contact Jayson or Michell Jay at 726-9038.
